Crab and Shrimp Seafood Bisque Recipe

  • 1 pound crab meat
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cups seafood stock
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup sherry vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
  2. Stir in tomato paste, paprika, and sherry vinegar. Cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Add seafood stock and bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Stir in crab meat and shrimp, cooking until shrimp is pink.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in heavy cream.
  7. Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • This bisque can be served with crusty bread for dipping.
  • For added flavor, simmer with a bay leaf and remove before serving.
