Dark Chocolate Orange Shortbread Cookies

A delicious and indulgent treat combining dark chocolate and orange flavors in a buttery shortbread cookie.

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and powdered sugar until smooth.
  3. Add flour, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, orange zest, and salt; mix until well combined.
  4. Fold in dark chocolate chips.
  5. Shape the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet.
  6. Flatten each ball slightly with a fork.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are firm.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
