Dark Chocolate Strawberry Tart

A rich and creamy tart filled with dark chocolate and topped with fresh strawberries.

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 8 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, powdered sugar, and salt. Add cold butter and mix until crumbly.
  3. Add one egg and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Press the dough into a tart pan and bake for 15 minutes.
  5. In a saucepan, heat heavy cream until simmering. Remove from heat and add chopped dark chocolate. Stir until smooth.
  6. Add remaining egg and vanilla extract into the chocolate mixture, mix well.
  7. Pour the chocolate filling into the tart shell and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes.
  8. Let it cool before topping with sliced strawberries.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free option, use almond flour instead of all-purpose flour.
  • Allow the tart to set in the refrigerator for a firmer texture.
