Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy. Add the egg and vanilla, mixing well.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  6. Drop tablespoons of cookie dough on a baking sheet and make a small indentation in the center of each cookie.
  7. Fill each indentation with a small dollop of the cream cheese mixture.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
