  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 8 slices turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Peel and dice the potatoes into small cubes.
  2. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute until golden.
  4. Gradually add the chicken broth, whisking continuously until smooth.
  5. Add the potatoes, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the potatoes are tender.
  7. Stir in the heavy cream and cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with green onions and crumbled turkey bacon.
