  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup crumbled turkey bacon
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Add flour and whisk for about 1 minute until smooth.
  4. Gradually add milk, whisking continuously until the mixture thickens.
  5. Add cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; stir until cheese is melted and sauce is creamy.
  6. Combine the cooked macaroni and turkey bacon with the cheese sauce.
  7. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven and let it sit for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider topping with breadcrumbs before baking.
  • Can substitute regular bacon for turkey bacon for a different taste.
