Salted Caramel Cake

A decadent dessert that combines the rich flavors of caramel with the perfect touch of salt, ideal for any occasion.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup salted caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
  7. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  10. Once cool, drizzle the salted caramel sauce between the layers and on top of the cake.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of sea salt on top of the caramel drizzle.
  • Feel free to layer with whipped cream for additional richness.
